In the competition concluded by the Ministry of Education and Science as part of the National Programme for the Development of the Humanities in the National Heritage module, 16 projects were qualified for funding, including 3 projects prepared by researchers from the Catholic University of Lublin (KUL).
The National Heritage module enables the realisation of projects encompassing the editing of sources and documents, editorials and compendia of knowledge for research into Polish cultural heritage, as well as the publication of monographs and studies on issues of particular importance to Polish national identity.
The best evaluated applications included: “Prelude to the ‘Collected Works’. Stefan Wyszyński vis-à-vis totalitarian regimes – analysis and critical edition of sources for the years 1924-1949” (project leader: Rev. Prof. Mirosław Sitarz), which will be co-funded with nearly PLN 630,000; ‘Jesuit culture of translation in the First Republic’ (Prof. Mirosława Hanusiewicz-Lavallee) with funding of over PLN 975,000; and ‘Archive of the Lutsk Diocese – digital edition’ (Dr Artur Hamryszczak) with funding of PLN 903,000.
