Historian of the University of Szczecin receives a prestigious scholarship

Stanislaw Boridchenko, an employee of the Institute of History at the University of Szczecin, has won a prestigious four-month scholarship in the first edition of the Jerzy Giedroyc Fellowship for research at Austria’s Institut für die Wissenschaften vom Menschen in Vienna.

The Jerzy Giedroyc Fellowship is a new fellowship programme aimed at historians, political scientists and literary scholars specialising in Polish-Ukrainian, Polish-Belarusian and Polish-Lithuanian relations, the legacy of Jerzy Giedroyc and Parisian „Culture”.

Stanislav Boridchenko specialises in the study of empires and imperialism, the processes of state and national border formation in Central and Eastern Europe after World War I, the history of mentality and textbook narratives in individual Eastern European countries on the “Polish question”.
