The Chair and Clinic of Neurology of the Central Clinical Hospital of the University Clinical Center of the Medical University of Warsaw (CSK UCK WUM) has obtained the prestigious Diamond Certificate of the European Stroke Organization – Angels, which is a partner of the World Stroke Organization. The award ceremony took place on February 26, 2020.

Ischemic stroke is the second leading cause of death and the first cause of disability. In Poland, about 70,000 new cases are reported every year, and forecasts say 82.8 – 96.6 thousand strokes happen annually in 2025.

The Diamond Certificate confirms that the treatment of patients in the acute phase of stroke, as well as care in the Stroke Department of the Department and Clinic of Neurology CSK UCK WUM meets the highest standards.
