The Academy of Young Scientists of the Polish Academy of Sciences is organising a meeting “Become a female researcher” in Poznań on 18 November. The event, to be held at the Faculty of Physics of Adam Mickiewicz University, is aimed at female secondary those school students, undergraduates and postgraduates in their first years who are considering a career in science.

The meeting is divided into two parts. Firstly, established researchers from various fields of knowledge will share their experiences from their scientific careers, explain what guided them to choose such a career path, what difficulties they had to face and what they are passionate about in their profession. The second part, in a more intimate setting, will take the form of a discussion between the researchers and participants.

The event is intended to encourage young women to take up a career in science. The organisers want to convince them that a scientific career gives a lot of satisfaction and allows for constant development, but it is also full of challenges.
