On 6 December 2022, SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket will launch a Polish-German satellite developed by Scanway and German Orbital Systems into space. This will launch the first Polish-German space mission STAR VIBE.

“On board the rocket, there will be two scientific cargoes prepared by our company. The first is a telescope to observe our planet from space. Its task will be to take pictures so that we can assess changes taking place on Earth, such as climate or hydrology,” explains Jędrzej Kowalewski, CEO of Scanway, in an interview, adding that the data collected in this way can also be used for defence purposes, which in the current geopolitical situation is certainly of great importance.

The second payload carried aboard the rocket will be an experimental device to test whether scientists on Earth are able to diagnose the condition of the satellite in orbit.
