Konrad Biliński and Paulina Schmelter from the Faculty of Architecture and Monika Głowacka and Dominika Kot from the Faculty of Construction and Environmental Engineering at the West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin were finalists in the architecture and engineering competition ‘Two faces one future of cellular concrete and concrete prefabrication’.

The competition task was to design a contemporary student residence of dreams, taking into account the use of two basic technologies: precast concrete and autoclaved cellular concrete.

In the final design, the body of the building was shaped as three cubic forms, two of which (one five-storey, the other six-storey), have a residential function with recreational and sports facilities located in the ground floor, while the third, two-storey, has a leisure function with quiet study areas. In addition, the roof of the two-storey section has been realised as ‘green’ and designed for recreation.
