A new academic year has begun at the Police Academy in Szczytno. The academy educates more than 2,000 students, both officers and civilians.
Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs and Administration Błażej Poboży, who attended the inauguration ceremony, emphasised that this was the first start of the academic year after the change of the name of the Szczytno university. The former Higher Police School has been the Police Academy since 1 August this year.
The Commandant-Rector of the Police Academy in Szczytno, Superintendent Dr Iwona Klonowska, pointed out that the transformation of the Police Academy into the Police Academy means an expansion of powers and possibilities. According to her, this was preceded by many activities, from the expansion of infrastructure to the development of new faculties and international cooperation. She also informed that to commemorate the name change, a time capsule has been laid on the premises of the academy, to be opened on the 50th anniversary of the Police Academy.
