The project “Dating fossils with use of molecular data – an innovative approach to determining the age of Baltic amber” (AMBER) has received an individual grant from the European Commission for scientists – MSCA Individual Fellowships.
Individual grants are awarded to researchers who have more than 4 years of experience in research or a PhD.
The project wis implemented by Dr Dagmara Żyła under the supervision of Dr Tracy Heath from the Iowa State University of Science and Technology and Dr Jacek Szwedo, Prof. of University of Gdansk.
The main assumption of the AMBER project is to develop a new method of accurate dating of fossil species preserved in Baltic amber.
The project will run from September 1, 2018 to August 31, 2020 with its budget of EUR 147,000.
