Information Processing Center – National Research Institute to launch the Artificial Intelligence Research Center in Warsaw

12.10.2021

Dr Eng. Jarosław Protasiewicz, director of the Information Processing Center – National Research Institute (OPI PIB), announced the construction of the Artificial Intelligence Research Center and presented its design. The opening of the research facility is scheduled for 2023.

The Artificial Intelligence Research Center will be built in Warsaw’s Mokotów district, next to the current seat of OPI PIB. The development of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies requires a modern infrastructure that will allow OPI PIB to strengthen its scientific potential.

-Of course, the development of AI means not only building innovative IT systems. Most of all, we need qualified experts and they work at OPI PIB. They are enthusiasts who are not afraid to experiment, innovators who look into the future – said the director of the institute.

Dr Eng. Jarosław Protasiewicz also emphasized that OPI PIB focuses primarily on interdisciplinarity in its research activities. Scientists conduct research in seven laboratories bringing together specialists from many sciences. In addition to IT technology experts, the institute’s team includes economists, sociologists, lawyers, statisticians and psychologists.
