The 11th “Innovator of Mazovia” competition for the most innovative scientists and companies from the Masovian Voivodeship was completed.

The Innovator of Mazovia has been organized by the Local Government of the Masovian Voivodeship since 2008. It is divided into two categories: “Innovative Company” and “Innovative Scientist”. This year, 43 entries were submitted to the competition: 23 in the category for scientists and 20 for companies.

In the “Innovative Company” category, the first prize and 30,000 PLN was received by KF Niccolum sp.z o.o. for the development of a technology of preparation of chelating substances of chromium and cobalt ions, based on the synthesis of active biopolymers, used in the cream for people with contact allergy to metals such as nickel, chromium and cobalt.

In the “Innovative Scientist” category, the jury awarded the first prize and 20,000 PLN to Dr Urszula Piotrowska from the Medical University of Warsaw for the work “High molecular weight antimicrobial peptide carriers – synthesis, structural, physicochemical and biological research”.
