The Institute of Theoretical and Applied Informatics of the Polish Academy of Sciences (IITiS PAN) joins the IBM Quantum Innovation Center established by the Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Center (PSNC).

The PSNC, affiliated with the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences, was the first institution in Central Europe to join the IBM Quantum Network in February 2022. The premise of the project was to strengthen national competence in quantum computing and support the development of applications of this cutting-edge technology. The project provided cloud access to IBM quantum computers running computational experiments in various areas of scientific challenges.

IITiS is the third member of the IBM Quantum Innovation Center. Previously, two indigenous institutions have already joined the Centre: Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan and the Centre for Theoretical Physics of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
