The AGH University of Science and Technology is an absolute leader among Polish universities in the design of integrated circuits. For many years, its scientists have been involved in their development using high-energy physics, X-ray imaging and neurobiology. This opened the way for cooperation with the Japanese company Rigaku Corporation. As a result, integrated circuits designed in Krakow are used in devices all over the world.

The design of integrated circuits is carried out at three faculties: Electrical Engineering, Automatics, Computer Science and Biomedical Engineering; Physics and Applied Computer Science, and Information Technology, Electronics and Telecommunications. According to the Europractice report, which supports the design and production of integrated circuits in Europe – AGH University of Science and Technology is the absolute leader in their design among Polish universities.
