18.05.2018

The University Clinical Hospital of the University of Warmia and Mazury uses the most modern in Europe and the only two-dimensional angiograph in Poland. It is a device that shows 3D blood vessels in real-time.

Two-plane angiograph is used in neurosurgery, neurology and cancer surgery.

– With its help, we can close the flow of blood to the cancer cells, which will cause them to die, or to clear the arteries in the brain in conditions after ischemia – explains Prof. Wojciech Maksymowicz, vice-rector of Collegium Medicum at the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn.

Angiograph is the most important item of equipment purchased for Surgery of Radiology Interventions and Endovascular Neurosurgery at University Clinical Hospital, which was open on May 15. .
