Piotr Niwiński from the Silesian University of Technology took part in the international competition for young engineers-inventors for the Dyson Award. His invention is an augmented reality system display, dedicated to medical services. Integrated with the mask and the helmet, the display meets the WHO requirements for protection against the risk of SARS-CoV-2 virus during an epidemic.
The task in the Dyson Award competition is to construct something that will solve a problem. The starting point may be something annoying that we grapple with on a daily basis – or a problem on a global scale. It is important that the solution to the problem is effective and well-thought-out.
The invention of a young Silesian scientist is intended for medical personnel operating in an environment of high risk of infection with viruses. The developed display solution allows for convenient presentation and collection of various medical knowledge about the patient only in digital form.
