20.07.2018

The invention developed at the Department of Polymer Technology of the Faculty of Chemistry of the Gdańsk University of Technology will allow the company MSU S.A. from Grudziądz to produce footwear soles with the use of polyurethane waste.

The solution of prof. Dr. Eng. Janusz Datta and Prof. Dr. Eng. Józef Haponiuk has already been patented and commercialized. It enables the recycling of polyurethane wastes generated from post-production cuts, as well as from other used products that usually are a significant burden for the natural environment.

The implementation of eco-soles will allow the company MSU to use the production waste in an profitable manner. In the long term, the solution may enable the development of technologies of full processing polyurethane wastes from other enterprises.
