Invention of scientists of the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń receives Award of the Macau

29.10.2019

The invention of the team of scientists of the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń “Smart materials” – intelligent separation materials on an activated polymer substrate with a defined nanoarchitecture of the surface was awarded at the Macau Innovative Invention Expo 2019 (MIIEX).

The invention is the effect of cooperation between scientists from Poland and Jordan. It was awarded the Gold Medal of the Fair and a “Silk Road- Best Belt and Road Initiative” Award- a special prize for the invention, which supports the initiative.

The planned commercialization of the solution will enable the production of highly specialized separation materials with defined surface properties, characterized by controlled separation properties. Surface modification of separation materials also opens the possibility of their further modification and various applications, including the production of dedicated sensors or membranes for effective water and air purification.
