This weekend, 16 – 17 October 2021, the University Hospital in Krakow will host a hackathon “Hack4Med”, which will connect the rivalry IT professionals with medicine what may result in an innovative tool to fight Covid-19.
Organized by the University Hospital together with the Codete company, “Hack4Med” is a pioneering hackathon in Poland and one of the first such events in Europe. The event will enable participants to work on a conceptual work on real, anonymised medical data of the patient.
The aim of the first event will be to create an innovative tool that will allow “automation of COVID risk prediction”. It will be the so-called “Covid risk calculator”, which is to provide real support for medical personnel.
The event was held under the Honorary Patronage of Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, Marshal of the Małopolska Province Witold Kozłowski, Rector of the Jagiellonian University Prof. Jacek Popiel, Rector of the AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków Prof. Eng. Jerzy Lis and the Rector of the University of Economics in Krakow, Dr Stanisław Mazur.
