Three scientists from the Jagiellonian University (UJ) in Krakow: Dr Vittorio Canale from the Faculty of Pharmacy, Dr Katarzyna Majzner from the Faculty of Chemistry and Dr Grzegorz Zając from the Jagiellonian Centre for Drug Development have become laureates of the PHC Polonium research programme, run by the National Academic Exchange Agency.
The aim of PHC Polonium is to support the mobility of researchers and deepen scientific cooperation between Poland and France.
Qualified projects for the programme include:
“Sustainable mechanochemical synthesis of biased and caged 5-HT6 receptor ligands”, led by Dr Vittorio Canale working with a team from the Max Mousserson Institute of Biomolecules at the University of Montpellier;
“Raman imaging of drug-stimulated leukaemic cells to assess their phenotype and biochemical profile”, a project by Dr Katarzyna Majzner in collaboration with BioSpectroscopie Translationnelle Université Reims Champagne-Ardenne (URCA);
“Circularly polarised luminescence and other chiralo-optical methods towards the detection of changes in proteins”, led by Dr Grzegorz Zając, carried out in collaboration with the Institut lumière matière Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1 (UCBL).
