The Museum of the History of Kielce in cooperation with the Institute of History of the Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce and the Faculty of History of the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań are organizing a conference on the occasion of the 950th anniversary of the foundation of Kielce.     

The organizers emphasize that this anniversary, although is sometimes discussed by scientists, refers to the tradition of the previous celebrations of the city’s founding in 1971 under the slogan ” 9 centuries of Kielce”.

The event will take place on October 14 and 15, 2021. The conference will present the latest findings and research on the origins and development of the city in its earliest medieval and early modern periods.

Those issues will be focused on by an interdisciplinary team of lecturers: archaeologists, historians, art historians, archivists and librarians representing various research centers in Poland
