Two Kielce universities: the Jan Kochanowski University (UJK) and the Kielce University of Technology are planning to jointly launch a new field of study – Biomedical Engineering.
Universities are offering a combination of medical and technical sciences. Inter-university cooperation that they will provide students and getting two diplomas.
In order to create the course, the universities need a consent of the Ministry of Education and Science. They have prepared specific action plans with planned subjects and the division of labor. The Kielce University of Technology will organize technical tasks, and the University will organize issues related to the operation of medical equipment.
-We will conduct this course not only with the use of the Collegium Medicum database, but also with aid of the Faculty of Exact and Natural Sciences. We are already gathering staff – said Dr Dorota Kozieł, Vice-Rector for Medical Affairs of the Jagiellonian University.
Studies in the new field of study will last 3.5 years, and the university has prepared 50 places.
