Graduates of the Jagiellonian University in Krakow and the University of Adam Mickiewicz (UAM) in Poznań became the laureates of this year’s nineteenth Czesław Zgorzelski National Competition. for the best master’s thesis.
The competition, which commemorates the outstanding scientist Czesław Zgorzelski, who for many years worked for the Catholic University of Lublin (KUL), aims to promote the most talented young Polish language teachers. It is an initiative of the Conference of University Polish Studies. The results of the competition are announced during a gala at the Catholic University of Lublin.
In the category of literary studies, the first prize was awarded to Paweł Łyżwiński of the Jagiellonian University for his work “(Un) reconciled oppositions. Chess tracks in texts of modern culture”.
In the linguistics category, the best paper “Secondary use of proper names on the example of Polish, English and Chinese languages” was presented by Karolina Galewska (Adam Mickiewicz University).
