Krakow University of Technology begins cooperation with Alstom ZWUS

Alstom ZWUS, a leader in the manufacture and installation of rail traffic control systems and equipment, and the Kraków University of Technology (PK) have concluded an agreement on cooperation in the areas of research, education and personnel. This will allow to strengthen the engineering competences of PK students and to carry out joint projects related to railway traffic control systems.

The cooperation agreement was signed by Krzysztof Struzik, member of the Alstom ZWUS management board, and Prof Andrzej Białkiewicz, rector of PK and Prof Dariusz Bogdał, the university’s vice-rector for science. 

The agreement provides for the organisation of internships and apprenticeships for PK students by ALSTOM, the suggestion of topics for students’ theses and engineering projects, the participation of the company’s experts in the creation of curricula for courses related to the company’s activities (e.g. means of transport and logistics, transport, electrical engineering and automation, specialisations: rail vehicle engineering, cyber-security, rail transport), lectures by Alstom ZWUS engineering staff as part of didactic classes at PK, and the organisation of educational trips.
