28.01.2019

Krakow’s universities: AGH University of Science and Technology (AGH) and the Jagiellonian University have signed an agreement on joint promotion of Chinese language and culture.

During the meeting the rectors of both universities signed an agreement on cooperation in the area of conducting Chinese language classes for AGH students and staff as part of the Institute of Confucius of the Jagiellonian University at the AGH University of Science and Technology.

– In AGH we have been running a Confucian Class project for the second year. This year about 150 students and staff attend Chinese language and culture classes. Without the assistance of the Confucius Institute of the Jagiellonian University, we would not be able to provide the possibility of learning Chinese for more than half of the people. The agreement opens new opportunities for us not only in the organization of language courses, but above all cultural events that allow us to better understand the history and mentality of the China- said Prof. Piotr Małkowski, Deputy Rector of the AGH University of Science and Technology for cooperation with China.
