Laureates of the National Science Centre Award 2022

Dr Karolina Safarzyńska, Dr Michał Bogdziewicz and Dr Piotr Wcisło have been awarded the National Science Centre (NCN) 2022 Prize, presented for the tenth time this year.

There were 59 candidates for the award, and it was given in three areas of science. Karolina Safarzyńska, PhD, economist and professor at the University of Warsaw, received the award in the humanities, social sciences and arts category. In the field of life sciences, the award was given to forest ecologist Dr Michał Bogdziewicz, professor at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, member of the Academy of Young Scientists of the Polish Academy of Sciences. The winner in the science and technology category is physicist Dr hab. Piotr Wcisło, professor at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń.

This year’s competition was open to applicants born no earlier than 1981. Each winner will receive PLN 50 000.
