Lecturer of the Art Academy in Szczecin becomes a laureate of Grand Press Photo

Dr Tomasz Lazar, lecturer at the Academy of Arts in Szczecin became a laureate of Grand Press Photo. He took second place in the “everyday life” category for a photojournalism showing how life has changed in Poland in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dr Lazar is the head of the photojournalism studio at the Department of New Media, Photography and Film at the Faculty of Media Arts. He is a graduate of computer science at the West Pomeranian University of Technology and the European Academy of Photography in Warsaw, a member of the Association of Polish Artistic Artists and a group of street photographers Un-posed.

The laureate has numerous successes, including nomination in the category “Deeper Perspective Photographer of the Year” in the International Photography Award competition, as well as awards: Sony World Photography Award, International Photography Award, BZWBK Press Photo, Grand Press Photo, Grand Prix Fotofestiwal in Łódź. He took the second place in the World Press Photo 2012 competition in the “People in the News” category.
