The Minister of Education and Science, Przemysław Czarnek, the President of the Management Board of PKN Orlen, Daniel Obajtek, and the rectors of six technical universities signed a letter of intent on educating personnel for the nuclear power industry. Poznan University of Technology (PP) is among the signatories of the letter.
Poland is facing a strategic challenge of environmental, climate and energy transformation. The main objective of the signed letter is to develop an educational programme in the field of nuclear power engineering and to organise and launch BA and MA studies of an all-academic profile from the new academic year.
“Our universities are extremely important in this process, I will say immodestly, they undoubtedly offer potential in terms of scientific development. We are highly qualified in terms of scientific development in the field of energy, energy transition, including nuclear energy, but in addition we have incredible competence in terms of education”, says the rector of PP, Prof Teofil Jesionowski.
