Lodz Slavists join an international project

The Department of Slavic Philology at the University of Lodz (UŁ) has joined the official partners of the Association of Legal Entities European Cultural Route of Saints Cyril and Methodius. 

The main goal of the Association of Legal Entities European Cultural Route of Saints Cyril and Methodius is to run (in wide cooperation with international partners) the European Route of Cultural Heritage of St. Cyril and Methodius. The project is implemented within the framework of the “European Cultural Routes” program, existing since 1987, coordinated by the Council of Europe and the European Institute of Cultural Routes, based in Luxembourg.

Dr Ivan Petrov from the University of Lodz explained, that the European Cultural Route of Cyril and Methodius in its expanded formula covers not only countries directly related to the mission of the authors of the original Slavic literature in the 9th century, but also countries where there are places and artifacts constituting the cultural heritage of their activities. Poland is one of these countries.
