Scientists from Poland, Spain and Estonia are working within a joint project on virtual chill spots to help students reduce stress. They are also planning to create a special VR (virtual reality) application, which will serve as relaxation training.

The coordinator of the innovative VRXanny project is the Lodz University of Technology, which obtained funds for the implementation of the task under the European Erasmus + program, as part of the Cooperation Partnership.

Dr Dorota Kamińska from the Institute of Mechatronics and Information Systems of the Lodz University of Technology explains that chill spots will be designed and placed in a way to eliminate outside noise and isolate its users from the real environment. The relaxation effect will be achieved through the use of multisensory stimulation experiences in a VR environment.

The work has involved psychologists from the University of Lodz who will prepare scenarios of relaxation exercises that IT specialists will transfer to virtual reality.
