The Lodz University of Technology together with partners from France, Germany, Sweden and North Macedonia will implement the project “Building digital competences of students and teachers of faculties related to construction and improving the digital preparation of universities in the European Union.
The European Commission has allocated almost EUR 250,000 for this international project. Funds for these activities are received under the Erasmus + program. The project will end in two years.
The project focuses on developing digital skills specific to future professionals in the construction industry – including architects, designers, engineers, constructors – in the field of creating a complete Building Information Model (BIM), i.e. not only technical documentation, but also a virtual three-dimensional model, now referred to as “digital twin”. BIM will become an integral part of the qualifications needed by future employees of the construction sector – says the project coordinator- Dr Eng. Anetta Kępczyńska-Walczak, the Institute of Architecture and Town Planning.
