Lodz University of Technology to launch a new research center

03.08.2021

The Institute of Organic Chemistry of the Lodz University of Technology received over PLN 3.9 million for the project “Research center for new biologically active compounds potentially useful in medical diagnostics”. Co-financing was granted under the regional Operational Program of the Lodzkie Voivodship, under the so-called Territorial Contract.

The newly established Center will contribute to the co-creation of the innovative economy of the region through the transfer of knowledge from universities to the enterprise sector. Advanced research and the development of enterprises in the cosmetics, food, chemical and pharmaceutical industries, as well as medical products and devices, will result in the introduction of new products, services and technological processes to the market.

Co-financing obtained for the project will allow launching two laboratories of the Faculty of Chemistry of the Lodz University of Technology with additional equipment. High-class research equipment will be provided to the Laboratory of Nuclear Magnetic Resonance and the Laboratory of Mass Spectrometry and Combined Techniques. These independent laboratories will become a separate but fully complementary research network. Already existing Gas Chromatography and Coupled Techniques Laboratory will become an integral, complementary part of the Center.
