At the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Science and Automation of the Lodz University of Technology a smart floor was officially launched. It is part of a large project of the Interdisciplinary Research and Development Center for Advanced Materials and Intelligent Management Systems in Construction 2020+ implemented at TUL.

The modernization of the rooms in the Department of Electrical Apparatus at the Lodz University of Technology cost 850 thousand PLN. The latest equipment, related to building automation, heating and air conditioning systems, as well as security systems and IT solutions has been installed in modern laboratories.

According to the university’s bulletin “Życie Uczelni”, smart systems installed in the building require their integration, monitoring and supervision. Analysis of the collected data can significantly improve energy efficiency and reduce operating costs.

The investment has been completed in almost 80% from European Funds, also enables cooperation with industry and manufacturers of solutions for modern building automation.
