From the summer semester, the Lodz University of Technology will launch a new, innovative MA course – Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), i.e. Human-Computer Interaction. The course is a unique study in Poland and in Central Europe.
Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) is an interdisciplinary field of science that focuses on researching the impact of new technologies, especially computer techniques, on people’s work and life.
The goal of the field of human-computer interaction is to make computers more friendly to humans and to fulfill human needs. It combines technical and humanistic aspects – e.g. social, sociological, and medical factors. It is beyond the narrow IT specialization; therefore, it is not necessary to have a BA degree in computer science to start studies in this new field – said Dr Eng. Krzysztof Grudzień, the chairman of the HCI Direction Council.
