Researchers from the Lodz University of Technology, together with Wolf 3D Solutions, are working on a printer 3D that using bioprint will allow the production of appropriate components for patients. That will enable the treatment of urethral defects in children and adults.
Scientists from the Institute of Materials Engineering at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Lodz University of Technology under the supervision of Dr Eng. Dorota Bociąg are working on solving the problem of treating urethral defects.
– We can help patients by developing biomaterials to produce a coil for the treatment of hypospadias in children and a stent for the treatment of stenoses using direct and indirect bioprint – explains Dr Eng. Dorota Bociąga.
The project will be implemented by a specially established consortium with the Korczak Hospital in Łódź, the Religa Foundation for the Development of Cardiac Surgery, Warsaw University of Technology, University in Toruń and Wolf 3D Solutions.
