For the 22nd time, the L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women and Science programme awarded prizes to young female scientists. The programme’s partners are the Ministry of Education and Science, the Polish Committee for UNESCO, the Polish Academy of Sciences and the UN Global Compact Network Poland.
From among the best applications, the Jury selected 6 research projects, awarding their authors: 3 postdoctoral scholarships of PLN 35,000 each, 2 doctoral scholarships of PLN 30,000 each and a master’s scholarship of PLN 20,000.
The scholarships were awarded to: Karolina Brzegowy from the Department of Anatomy of the Collegium Medicum of the Jagiellonian University (UJ) in Krakow; Kalina Andrysiak, a graduate of biology and molecular biotechnology at the Faculty of Biochemistry, Biophysics and Biotechnology of the UJ; Marta Kędziora, a graduate of neurobiology at the UJ, a doctoral student at the Institute of Pharmacology of the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAN); Sylwia Judycka, Ph.D., a graduate of biology at the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn, an assistant professor at the Department of Gamete and Embryo Biology at the Institute of Animal Reproduction and Food Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAN) in Olsztyn; Katarzyna Bandyra, Ph.D., a graduate of biotechnology at the University of Warsaw (UW), assistant professor at the Faculty of Chemistry of the UW; Monika Gawałko from the Medical University of Warsaw.
