Lower Silesian hospitals and doctors receive support of the chemical faculty of the Wrocław University of Science and Technology

21.04.2020

Employees of the chemical department of the Wroclaw University of Science and Technology will support Lower Silesian hospitals in the fight against the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus epidemic. They loaned medical facilities part of their disinfectant liquids and lab coats, and regularly provide them with face masks and protective helmets.

Scientists began their help with disinfectants. They supplied over 150 liters of them and also supplied isopropanol, a substance that can be used to disinfect keyboards, cell phones and computer monitors to several hospital departments. The university also launched the production of helmets and protective masks.

-As I work closely with hospitals and doctors from our region (Lower Silesian Oncology Center in Wrocław, Clinic of the Medical University in Wrocław, Hospital in Trzebnica) so as soon as I received information that they are in need, we starting to act – says Prof. Piotr Młynarz.
