Lublin to hold XX Universal Congress of Polish Historians

From 18 to 20 September 2019, the jubilee 20th Universal Congress of Polish Historians under the National Patronage of Andrzej Duda, the Polish President, will take place in Lublin.

Particular items of the program of the 20th Universal Congress of Polish Historians will take place at the Center for the Meeting of Cultures, Lublin Conference Center and the Arena Lublin, as well as in the Council Hall of the Faculty of Humanities at the Maria Curie Skłodowska University (UMCS) and at the Catholic University of Lublin (KUL). The organizers are planning that the event will bring together over 800 scientists, teachers and students from Poland and abroad.

The program of this year’s Congress includes debates and discussions of scientists in nine sections and five thematic panels as well as a poster session for PhD students. Panels include the seminar dedicated to the Union of Lublin with the participation of only foreign participants, a debate on the history of Poland told from the perspective of women and a panel about what history is needed by Poles today.
