The Maria Curie Skłodowska University (UMCS) in Lublin concluded an agreement with the Lublin Commune and the Lublin Province regarding cooperation in the field of research and its promotion, as well as participation in conferences and research and teaching projects.

Under the agreement, the Center for Research on Regional and Local History will be established at the UMCS Institute of History. The newly established unit will disseminate and organize knowledge about the history of the region.

The signatories of the agreement emphasized that these activities fit into the implementation of the provisions of the Lublin 2030 Strategy and the Development Strategy of the Lubelskie Voivodeship until 2030, using the scientific and research potential of the UMCS Institute of History.

The agreement was signed by: the Marshal of the Lublin Province, Jarosław Stawiarski, Member of the Province Board, Bartłomiej Bałaban, the President of Lublin, Dr.Krzysztof Żuk and the Rector of the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University, Prof. Radosław Dobrowolski.
