Lublin University of Technology (PL) together with Miejskie Przedsiębiorstwo Komunikacyjne (MPK) Lublin and Tele-Fonika Kable Group will realise a project for the construction of modular energy storage for enterprises.
As a result of the project, three pilot energy storage facilities will be created: one on the university campus for functional tests, another at one of the TF Kable production plants and one at the MPK Lublin depot.
The solution is addressed to enterprises and is aligned with the need to reduce power consumption.
-This project will allow us to use the stored energy. In enterprises such as MPK Lublin, the problem is very visible, because the peak power consumption is over 1500 kW, and the daily average – 70 kW. This generates huge costs resulting from the provision of connection capacity by the energy company. The planned storage will partially cover the demand for energy and power at times when the maximum load of the network is reached – said Tomasz Fulara, President of the Management Board of MPK Lublin.
