Almost 200 scientists debated in Lublin during the 30th Congress of the Polish Soil Science Society. The event was organized under the slogan “Soil as a source of life” and was held on September 2-7, 2019.
The congress was attended by almost 200 participants from Polish and foreign scientific centers, including scientists from Egypt, Russia, Germany, Lithuania, Hungary, Belgium, Ukraine and Mexico. During plenary sessions, they presented research results showing the importance of soil as a natural resource conditioning life on Earth and its impact on the functioning of ecosystems and societies, especially in the economic dimension. There were also two poster sessions with 95 works were presented.
The event was organized by the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin, the University of Life Sciences in Lublin, the Institute of Agrophysics of the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAN) in Lublin, the Institute of Cultivation of Fertilization and Soil Science – National Research Institute in Puławy and the Roztocze and Polesie national parks.
