Łukasiewicz becomes the leader of the European Urban Air Mobility development project

10.09.2020

At the beginning of 2021, the Łukasiewicz Research Network started to work on defining recommendations that guarantee universal acceptance, safe use, and sustainable and integrated transport by drones over urbanized areas.

The project “Acceptance, Safety and Sustainability Recommendations for Efficient Deployment of Urban Air Mobility” (ASSURED – AMU) is financed by the European Commission under the Horizon 2020 program. Łukasiewicz’s Research Network will be represented in this project by the Łukasiewicz – Institute of Aviation.

The consortium led by Łukasiewicz – ILOT also includes four other European research institutes and three European agglomerations – Italian Bari, Portuguese Porto and Poland, represented by the Metropolis GZM.

The Łukasiewicz – Institute of Aviation will take part in the entire process of creating recommendations, while acting as a coordinator of tasks aimed at adequately defining future scenarios for the development of Urban Air Mobility and defining standards and recommendations for the implementation of unmanned operations in urban agglomerations.

Works under the project are scheduled until 2023. Its budget is nearly EUR 1.5 million.
