A Polish-German consortium with the participation of Łukasiewicz – Institute of Non-ferrous Metals is implementing the Alu4CED project (Aluminium based multifunctional housing for circular electronic devices).

The project aims to design electronic products for energy and material optimisation throughout the product life cycle, especially recycling. Existing MID technologies for the creation of electronic circuits and antennas will be adapted to the product housing concept for aluminium-based ICT equipment.

The recycling of aluminium and the use of recycled aluminium is a great contribution to the objectives of a circular economy in line with the European Commission’s Green Deal programme. An aluminium case is more environmentally friendly than a comparable case made of plastic.
