Police vehicles with new markings will soon enter Polish roads. They will be more visible in all weather conditions. The change is the result of cooperation between the Police Logistics Office of the Police Headquarters (BLP KGP) with the Łukasiewicz Research Network – Automotive Industry Institute (PIMOT).
Based on the layout scheme of additional reflective elements proposed by BLP KGP, engineers from Łukasiewicz – PIMOT presented a visualization of the possibility of positioning the elements of the new marking. At the meetings of the representatives of BLP KGP and team members, they worked out a prototype model of police marking for a passenger car.
“We conducted a number of tests, including field tests, during which the visibility of the existing markings was compared with the newly designed markings”, says Przemysław Pająk, the head of the Vehicle Safety Laboratory in Łukasiewicz – PIMOT. These tests have shown that the use of the prototype marking significantly improves visibility in all weather conditions, regardless of the type of lighting”, he adds.
