The basic objectives of the Act, which are strengthening the role of science and higher education in the development of Poland and increasing the contribution of Polish scientists to global science, are fully in line with the proposals formulated by the Polish academic community for a long time – said Professor Zbigniew Marciniak, chairman of the Main Council of Science and Higher Education.
On March 8, 2018, the Main Council of Science and Higher Education adopted a resolution in which it expressed unequivocal support for solutions contained in the draft law on higher education and science. As emphasized in the document, particular attention should be paid to the fact of extensive consultations undertaken in the academic environment and including a lot of their remarks by the Ministry of Science into the draft Constitution for Science.
