Consortium composed of: MGGP Aero (leader), University of Lodz, University of Warsaw and the company Definity implemented an innovative project called “Development and delivery of a comprehensive Map of the Tree Crown in numerical version for the capital city of Warsaw”.
The first in Poland Map of Tree Crowns, which was created with the help of remote sensing, is available on the city map service of Warsaw.
Currently, the Map of the Tree Crowns contains trees from the northwest of the city. By the end of this year, it will cover the entire city.
The new tool is a comprehensive database intended to serve officials and residents showing the surface occupied by bushes and trees. Map users can check their distribution and crown range, and they can sort trees based on species.
