Dr Szymon Wąsowicz, professor at the Bielsko-Biała University of Technology and Humanities, has translated a textbook by K.A. Stroud and Dexter J. Booth’s “Advanced engineering mathematics”. The translation, under the title “Matematyka inżynierska. Poziom zaawansowany’, has been published by Pętla Publishing. The book contains more than 1,200 pages and the translation work took place between November 2021 and April 2023.

The textbook presents the topics most necessary in the work of an engineer. It contains material on the mathematical analysis of functions of one and many variables, vector analysis, complex analysis, numerical analysis and differential equations, linear algebra and optimisation theory.

The book is intended for students of technical faculties, engineers of various specialisations, university teachers, tutors, but also for enthusiasts of mathematics and its applications. It is an obligatory item in home libraries and on the shelves of libraries of technical universities.
