Tetiana Bezpalko, a native of Ukraine, a third-year student of nursing – English Division at the Medical University of Gdańsk, was awarded a special prize in this year’s INTERSTUDENT competition. She received the award for her great courage, which took her to the front of the war in Ukraine, where she provided assistance to wounded soldiers and civilians. 

“I am surprised and very pleased, although at the same time a little embarrassed by this award. I know that there are so many people who do so much more on a daily basis. I will try to match this honour shown”, says the winner. 

The jury appreciated Tetiana Bezpalko’s immense commitment and numerous educational, social and charitable activities. The laureate is a coordinator of the Red Cross Poland-Ukraine, she supervised the delivery of medical supplies to Ukraine and helped to make camouflage materials for Ukrainian soldiers.
