The Medical University of Wrocław has been classified in the world ranking of universities assessed in terms of their impact on environmental sustainability. It was included in the list as the only medical university in Poland. 

The GreenMetric ranking focuses on the assessment of pro-ecological solutions present at universities, from planting trees in their premises, waste management or sustainable transport to educational activities for the environment.

The Medical University of Wrocław was ranked for the first time among 956 universities from 84 countries of the world, which were included in the list in 2021.

The GreenMetric ranking was created by Universitas Indonesia in 2010. Its aim is to assess and disseminate knowledge about initiatives for sustainable environmental development undertaken by universities around the world.
