At the conference “Church – State – Civil Society at the Service of Families in Poland” organized at the Catholic University of Lublin, Przemysław Czarnek, Minister of Education and Science announced that family studies would be a separate scientific discipline.

-We urgently need such studies due to the crisis of the family and attacks from various ideologies which have nothing or little to do with reality and truth. We have to defend the family through family studies as a separate scientific subject. This is what we are announcing today at the Catholic University of Lublin and we will want to realize it next year – said Minister Czarnek.

In his opinion within discussions about the family, Article 18 of the Constitution of the Republic of Poland should always be cited, which confirms that marriage is a union of a woman and a man creating a family, and motherhood and parenthood are under legal protection and care of the Republic of Poland.
