The Minister of Education and Science, Przemysław Czarnek, has handed the rector of the Tarnów Academy, Dr Małgorzata Kołpa permission for the creation of a consolidated master’s degree course with an all-academic profile in medicine. 

‘This is a next university that has taken on a huge challenge and undertaken great responsibilities,’ said the head of the Ministry of Education and Science during the ceremony.  

Minister Czarnek emphasised that creating a medical faculty and educating future doctors is a huge scientific and educational challenge for the entire higher education institution.

He recalled that this is another university in the Małopolska voivodship that would be educating on the medical faculty. 

‘Of course, the Jagiellonian University’s Collegium Medicum is the largest institution here, but there is also Nowy Targ and Nowy Sącz, and now Tarnów. These are the places that can successfully cope with all such tasks and responsibilities, especially as there is also a great potential for practical training’, he added.
