“Social media is an opportunity, but also a huge threat. It is difficult to separate falsehood from truth in the maze of information that reaches us. You should be aware of it and pay special attention to it”, said Przemysław Czarnek, Minister of Education and Science, during the opening of the International Scientific Conference “Christian Values in the Digital Society”. The event organized by the Catholic University of Lublin was attended by scientists from Poland, Italy, Spain and Slovakia.
In his speech, Minister Czarnek drew attention to the universal nature of Christian values and their presence in culture. “You have to stand by the truth. We should not succumb to the fashion to please the world. This is not how it is. It is necessary to show the foundations of Christianity and the values that build these foundations”. Minister Czarnek emphasized that the dedication and help that Poles presently offer to refugees from Ukraine have its roots in Christian values.
” This is the effect of upbringing and this upbringing is based on Christian values. It is Christianity that makes us look after those who need it, because they are fleeing the war”, added Przemysław Czarnek.
